Foil, Fingers and Fractured Distal Phalanx

Once again, my mother is typing for me, BUT the reason this time is much more dramatic.

Today, at a homeschooling picnic, I was exercising...to fulfill my 15 minutes of required P.E. time (and you think we don't have "gym"?)  As I used exercise equipment at the park, my fingers were crushed by a misguided youth, who inadvertently slammed the neighboring piece of iron bar into my digits of BOTH hands.  I spurted and dripped hemoglobin and plasma carelessly as I ran to my mother, who lounged (*lounged?!? says mom*)  a 1/2 mile away.

I wasn't very valiant, but I withstood the pain as waves of nausea and feelings of faintness came over me.

My mother rushed me to the ER at SOCH.  Props to those nurses. (holla!)  After a ride in a wheelchair and hospital bed, a couple of xrays on BOTH hands, and TOO many needles, they performed a "re-insertion" of my fingernail bed (yes, it looked as gross and painful as it sounds) derma-bonded by skin shut on my left hand.  Ice was prescribed for my right hand.  Both hands will lose fingernails, one maybe permanently.  EPIC!!

You may be wondering, why I have foil wrapped around my splinted finger? (lovingly named Oswald - for it has its own heartbeat now)  I have an ice wrap around the splint and the foil keeps it contained and cold.

After a long day of perseverance and much medication,  I lay - eating my bowl of cereal (honey nut o's) watching a NEW episode of Cake Boss.

That is all.

Superstitions, Super Cute Dogs, and Shannon Hale.

FRIDAY THE 13th PEOPLE.
Not that homeschoolers are superstitious, it's just that we have nothing better to wait for, with joy.

So today we broke down.
On the Island, no less.
And it's not the tropical kind.

And, even though a rabid nail punctured our tender tires, we were saved by Mr. Davis, who nobly pulled up and helped us. (And his super cute dog Daisy)

After that, we frolicked over to the animal shelter (after seeing Daisy) to check for any adorable animals.

That is all.

Amanda, Amanda, and Amanda.

***Back by popular demand***

Today's blog session is going to have one purpose:

AMANDA, THE LIVE-IN COUSIN.

This live-in cousin lives with me. (Who would of thought this notion was true?) Her life consists of:

Step 1: Sleep until 10:00 a.m.
Step 2: Lounge until 11:00 a.m.
Step 3: Relax until noon.
Step 4: Watch t.v. until 4:00 p.m.
Step 5: Take nap from lack of sleep.
Step 6: Eat food (mostly Ben and Jerry's)
Step 7: Groan and mumble of "sleep deprivation" and having to go to work.
Step 8: Get self into car and drive.
Step 9-10: Work; come home, and sleep.

And repeat.

Today, we helped find stability in her life, by searching for apartments on Craig's List (what a reliable, trustworthy source to go to, am I correct or what?). Then we hid from neighborhood children.

After that, she had to go sleep, due to the fact that she was awake for more than an hour without a nap.

Now join me by posting something encouraging to her. Some of the following responses are acceptable:

"WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE. FIND SOME PURPOSE"
"FIND A WORTHWHILE JOB AND DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR LIFE"
"ICE CREAM BINGING AND WATCHING VERMINATORS FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR"

There you go folks.

Medieval Times, Mexicans, and Mancala

I've missed you, fellow followers.
Before I start, I must give a holla to Shelly, for stalking me when I thought she disappeared.

This weekend was filled with falling in love with knights, hot tubs, and jet-skis.
Let me start from the beginining.
First off we started the weekend with an excellent trip to Medieval Times, where I met the black-and-white knight of my dreams. As a plus, He threw me a flower, after he kissed it. AND he's a mexican (a Mexican knight?) to top it off.

Then later on, followed  with a fabulous youth group pool party. Yes, I went 107 miles per hour on a jetski in the bay, and I loved it. (Little  to my mother's knowledge)

I shall uplaod more pictures later.

I now depart, as I prepare for my mancala tournament.
