Soo...about this book.......

If I asked you what was the hottest book of 2010-2011, what would you answer? [If the word twilight came across your mind, go away ;)]

Well, dear readers, I can answer that question quite confidentaly, that it's The Hunger Games!
The magical trilogy summary: "The Hunger Games takes place in an unidentified future time period after the destruction of North America, in a nation known as Panem. Panem consists of a wealthy Capitol and twelve surrounding, poorer districts. As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol, every year one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district are selected at random and forced to participate in the Hunger Games, a televised event in which the participants, or "tributes", must fight to the death in a dangerous outdoor arena until only one remains. The story follows fatherless 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a girl from District 12 who volunteers for the 74th Games in place of her younger sister, Primrose."

I can take a wild guess and say that you will enjoy this, even if violence isn't your thing. It's great for boys and girls, kids and adults. [Hey, I even got my mother to read them!] So before they're all sold out, go grab a copy, or get it from your library.

Thats it for today.

What's this?

Why look here! An updated blog! I know, the name is...unoriginal. But I decided calling it "Amber Alert: an orginial blog" wasn't quite appropriate. So, if you can think of some magical, fabulous name, leave me a comment!

So I've recently returned from an eventful trip. My parents took off to Florida for 5 days and left the rest of the bandwagon with out of state family. While I'd much rather be tanning at the beach,we three kiddos had alot of fun. So here's the top five things that happened:

1: I took a fantastic spill on the ice, cutting up my face and receiving a fabulous black eye.

2: Worked an 10 hour shift at my grandparent's coffee shop/bakery outside of Phildelphia. The money I made is going towards the get-Amber-a-new-pair-of-pointe-shoes fund.

3: Spent endless hours playing Dutch blitz, possible THE funnest game ever invented.

4: Watched my cousin T. absolutely cream C.B. West Highschool during his swim meet. //laughs unmercilessly.//

5: Re-read the Hunger Games! [Watch for my new blog post about this one!]

So, that concludeds my post from my new blog. Until next time!

The homeschooler is undergoing a dramatic change.

Well, friends. I'm changing my blog name. Why you ask?

dramatic pause

I may not be a homeschooler for much longer. What's this? Your shocked? Confused? Running around filled with feelings of chaos and mass destruction? Calm down. Take a few breathers.

I have applied for the Performing Arts Academy in a not so nearby town. They have accepted my application and I am now going for testing on January 29th. After that, I will audition. After that, I will hear back if I have been accepted. Out of 200+ kids auditioning, they will only accept 20 for each subject: Dance, Theater, and Singing. (I as you have probably guessed, am auditioning for dance.) Pressure, ya think??

So, folks, I'll keep you posted. Pray for me through the process!
